FOX (Forkhead box) proteins are a family of transcription factors that play an important role in regulating the expression of genes involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation and longevity. Many fork-head frame proteins play a key role in embryonic development by binding to condensed chromatin during cell differentiation and possessing transcriptional activity.
